Everything about our wedding day was perfect. We were married in the church that my parents were married in, in front of all of our most favorite people. Following the ceremony, we stopped at the movie theater where Tyler and I met over 7 years ago for a Coke ICEE! It was such a special pit stop because it took us back to where our relationship began and brought old butterflies on top of the new ones we were already experiencing from being newly married. After that, it was on to the reception at the beautiful Indiana State Museum on the canal that runs through downtown Indianapolis. We entered to the song “T.N.T” by ACDC, since our hashtag was #endlesslyTnT for Tyler and Trista. The reception was a blast and at the end of the night, while our guests gathered on the back terrace with sparklers, we stayed inside for a private last dance under the lights. It was a very intimate moment and allowed us to be able to take in the day. When we made it through the sparkler tunnel, we were swept away on the canal by a gondola with a singing gondolier who was actually from Venice! Everything was beautiful and it was truly a dream come true marrying my high school sweetheart.
We looked all over Indianapolis for the perfect dress and left store after store empty handed, so we decided to take a day trip to the bridal district in Cincinnati. Bridal and Formal was the first store we went in, and I was able to find the perfect dress for me right away! Because we were in Cincy for the day, we decided to continue shopping around and looking at the other stores in the district. Every dress I tried on in the next couple hours seemed like nothing compared to the dress found for me at Bridal and Formal- it was all I could think about. I am so grateful to the workers at Bridal and Formal for finding the dress that had everything I visioned for myself, and then some, and for working with our budget to make my dream dress a reality! Iris was amazing! Because we are from Indianapolis, it was hard for my sister (maid of honor) to be able to take a day trip away from her newborn, and since we didn’t want her to have to lug a newborn around to a million wedding dress shops, my mom and I made the trip alone. I was a little bummed since it was such a special moment to find the dress and my sis wasn’t able to be there, but Iris made it so special! Her energy and ability to genuinely give her opinion on the dresses was exactly what my indecisive self needed, and we were able to find the perfect gown!
