Vera Wang Spring 2018 Collection

Vera Wang doesn’t follow rules; or understand the concept of autopilot–especially when it comes to designing bridal gowns. Let’s not forget, as the preeminent name in American bridal fashion, she’s responsible for curating the styles, silhouettes and trends we’ve come to associate with wedding dressing worldwide. While her name has long been associated with traditional ball skirts, textural pleating and the illusion lace boleros we’ve come to view as the bridal norm, her more recent collections have let us in on her darker, edgier side that’s more evocative of her ready-to-wear collections and embraces dark romance. Last season, Wang opted for a bohemian irreverence with a collection she described as “young love.” This season, she took that concept to the next level, noting her inspirations as “CRAZY INNOCENCE . MODERN SEDUCTION. ASYMMETRY RULES.”
