The Wedding of Amy & Stephen

The day I had always pictured in my head as a little girl had finally come!

Our wedding day took place at the Savannah Center in West Chester. It is a gorgeous vicinity has an outdoor ceremony space with a gazebo and small pond. We draped the gazebo and had a large floral arrangement hung in the front to create a classic feel to go with our Vintage style wedding. My ladies in waiting and I were able to get ready in the spacious bridal suite that allowed 3 girls to have hair done at one time, and then our makeup artist in the sitting
room to work with another. This is one of my fondest memories as my best friends and I were pampered to feel absolutely beautiful. When it came time to put on my dress, my mother and Maid of Honor assisted me in stepping into the dress of my dreams that was now fitted and hemmed to perfection. We prepped in a large common area to allow plenty of room for all of my bridesmaids and immediate family to help and observe. The final touches of my belt and jewelry helped me to feel the prettiest I have I felt. It was then picture time with my ladies (two of whom also got their bridesmaid’s dresses from Bridal and Formal)! We struck our poses and felt like models in our gorgeous gowns. My husband and I opted to not see each prior to me walking down the aisle, but we did
exchange letters to one another behind a door. This was one of the most emotional moments for me. Feeling his hand on the other side of the door brought a wave of excitement and joy that this man was about to become my husband in a few short minutes, and I couldn’t wait to walk down the aisle. My mother escorted me to my now husband. This is a moment I will cherish forever, as I remember fondly how my mother squeezed and rubbed my hand to keep me calm as I watched Stephen at the other end of the aisle looking at me in amazement, and then
him becoming emotional. Something he never does! The ceremony then seemed to fly by, and all of a sudden we were finally able to kiss as husband and wife!

The day I had always pictured in my head as a little girl had finally come: Wedding Dress Shopping! I was very excited to feel like a princess. I walked into Bridal and Formal without an appointment, but was treated with great care. The consultant sat down with me about my vision for my dress, and then helped point me in the direction
for dresses in my budget and style. I was amazed at the grand selection available, and picked out a handful of dresses to try on. The consultant also pulled a few dresses to have me try on that she felt would suit my figure. One of her pulls was the first that I tried on. My family was in agreement that it was perfect, but I was not, because I I had my eye on one that I had picked out. I tried on a few more including the one that I thought I would love, but none gave me the feeling of “wow”! It was at this point that I began to get discouraged. I was ready to leave and try again another day. Then my mother, seeing I was disheartened, began to show me pictures of the dresses I had tried on, showing me the first dress I had tried on that day and how the Aline style suited my body type, and suggested I try on the dress again. After trying on the dress a second time, I noticed that she was right about the style of dress that flattered my body. However, I was having a hard time picturing myself in the dress due to the brightness of the white, for I wanted an ivory gown. The consultant came to the rescue by pinning the exact same gown in a smaller size that was ivory, and the magic happened. All of a sudden tears came, as I realized that I was wearing the perfect dress for me. The one that I didn’t know that I wanted, until I overcame my “vision” of what I thought I wanted, to allow myself open to the idea of something different. I am so thankful to the consultant for pulling this dress for me, because it was perfect!
