The Wedding of Heather & Casey

Our ceremony was outdoors and of course the weather is always a concern! I didn’t want to go with our backup plan and I’m so glad the weather stayed nice for us! It was a beautiful day and the flowers and the scenery and the set-up was just how I pictured it! We had live music at the ceremony which really set the mood and our arbor was to die for! Our reception was all about having fun and we had about every single person out on the dance floor! We had a lot of DIY touches that really meant a lot to me as well.
Bridal and Formal was our last appointment scheduled between all the bridal shops. We had appointments scheduled across 2 days and went through them quickly so I stopped in Bridal and Formal and did a walk through to get an idea of what dresses I may want to try on the next day. I had tried on so many dresses at this point and knew what I was looking for so I didn’t see anything what I was looking for so we were going to cancel the appointment. On the way out, a consultant we spoke to talked us in to keeping the appointment and letting them pick out some dresses based on what I was looking for. So we thought, we made the drive here and they are professionals, so we might as well give it a shot! The dress I ended up with wasn’t what I was looking for except for the open back! I pulled it when I was looking that first day, but then put it back because it didn’t have the other elements I was looking for. The consultant also pulled it on my appointment day and I’m not against trying anything on, so I put it on and everyone got kind of silent! I kept looking in the mirror and I was like I don’t know, but I feel I’m really liking this dress…then I look at my mom and she’s in tears so then I’m in tears! It fit me and didn’t overwhelm me like a lot of the other lace dresses (lace is what I wanted), it had the open back, it was easy to move in (which I planned on dancing a lot!), it really fit with our wedding theme. I liked that I had many options for jewelry with it, and it’s really just a timeless dress! Everyone tells you to try everything, but you’ll be surprised at what you end up liking and I figured since I had been open and tried about every style that I knew pretty well what I was looking for, but even at the end, a dress still took me by surprise and thanks to the consultants, I ended up with the perfect wedding dress!
Thank you!
