Our Wedding Day Was Absolutely Amazing!
When I stepped into Bridal and Formal, I was feeling defeated, like I was never going to find a dress that lived up to my expectations. I had tried on so many dresses at multiple stores. The other stores were nice, but they were nothing like this place. Bridal and Formal had such a huge variety of dresses, and the store was clean and organized. Everyone was beyond helpful and super nice. They truly made me feel like I was the most important person there. I had a wonderful experience.
My consultant, Bobbi, was absolutely AMAZING! I am so thankful she was my consultant. I wanted my dress to be something different and unique. I had been to 5 different stores and tried on multiple dresses, which were all very underwhelming. When I stepped into Bridal and Formal, I was feeling defeated, like I was never going to find a dress that lived up to my expectations. But, boy was I wrong. I explained to Bobbi what I was going for and she knew exactly what my vision was. I went back to the room and tried on some gowns that my family picked but nothing really stuck out, and then Bobbi showed us the dresses she had set aside. She pulled some incredible gowns, which all fit the image I was hoping for. The dress I picked was a dress that Bobbi had pulled. Without her, I may not have found my perfect dress. Bobbi not only helped me pick something phenomenal, but she brought so much joy and happiness to the whole process. She made my family feel included and was very attentive to each of us – always making sure we were comfortable and had what we needed. We all adored her. I am thrilled I had such an incredible consultant who helped make all my bridal dreams come true. Thank you, Bobbi. You are such a beautiful person, inside and out!
Our wedding day was absolutely amazing. It started out with my bridesmaids and I getting ready at a cute Airbnb in downtown Dayton. This place had such cute decor and a ton of natural light – perfect for hair and makeup. We had our music playing as we danced around and had our hair and makeup done. It was like having a mini party before the actual party started. Our photographer (Megan Allen – Studio 22 Photography) showed up, as we were getting ready and got some awesome shots of us hanging out and getting glammed up. I then slipped into my dress, making it all very “real” that I was getting married! Then, it was off to our first look! We did a “first look” at the Dayton Art Institute. The architecture made for a beautiful backdrop as I got to see my future husband. After the emotions of seeing each other for the first time on our wedding day calmed down, Dillon looked at me and told me I had the “coolest” dress he had ever seen (thanks Bridal and Formal and Eddy K)! We tried to work quickly as we took some couple shots at the DAI because it was insanely hot that day. Poor Dillon was dressed head to toe in black (a velvet blazer none the less) and was unbearably hot. After our first look, we went to “Something Old Dayton” for some studio portraits. We wanted to do something a little different our wedding photos, so when our photographer suggested a studio session, we were completely on board. The photos were very Vogue/Vanity Fair inspired, and we all had a blast trying to pull out some sassy looks. These photos included our whole bridal party, which was a ton of fun. Then we all piled into a couple cars and headed to “Top of the Market” for the main event. Our Ceremony was short and sweet and centered around our life together. We had a good friend officiate the wedding, which made it even more special. After the first kiss, we danced out of the room for some formal family portraits. Only then did we find out that everyone had stood for our entire ceremony because we forgot to write in “you may be seated” (haha – we thought this was pretty humorous. Luckily the ceremony was short). We queued up our reception entrance song so we could enter TikTok (specifically at the part saying “The party don’t start till I walk in”). After being introduced, we went straight into our first dance and then everyone was seated for dinner. After dinner, we did our cake cutting (where we both were extra nice – no cake in the face for us) and kicked off the dancing. Everyone was dancing and having a good time when all of a sudden our guests started to rush towards the windows. We were really confused as to what was going on, so we walked over to see thick black smoke and a blazing fire. An abandoned building a couple blocks away had caught on fire!! We met our photographer in the middle of the dance floor and we all agreed that this moment needed to be captured. When we were choosing our photographer, we knew we wanted someone who would be fun, and adventurous, but more importantly, we wanted someone who would capture our entire day as authentically as possible. We wanted to document this fire because it was one of the crazy moments of our big day. All of the important moments throughout a wedding are captured, from getting ready to the ceremony, first kiss, and cake cutting, etc. so when something this crazy event happened in the midst of our wedding, we wanted it documented. This is definitely not something that normally happens during a wedding. We climbed up a hill and got a few stunning shots. This was a huge part of our day, our guests were completely consumed by watching the blazing fire and our reception was basically halted for a little while. Once things settled down a bit, we got back to the reception and danced the rest of the night away. What we weren’t expecting is for the whole world to be sharing our fire photo on Facebook. That was not something we even considered as we were in front of the flames. We were really just in shock that this was happening on our wedding day and wanted a way to chronicle all the events that were taking place. Our photographer did an amazing job at taking this unfortunate event and turning it into a beautiful piece of art that we will cherish forever. We had the most amazing wedding day. I only wish it didn’t go by so fast and that I could relive the day over and over again.
