A Captivating June Wedding
I absolutely loved both visits! The first, when I found my dress, and the second when I picked it up! I felt like a queen for the day, and everyone was so helpful…and very patient while I was indecisive! When I finally found “the one”, the consultants seemed to be genuinely excited for me, and I felt like they really loved what they do. Altogether, such a fun and relaxing experience, and I would
recommend to anyone for the ultimate bridal gown shopping experience!
My vision for our wedding day was to have a very romantic and modern feel and to stay as far away from the “rustic” look as possible. This is exactly what we got! It was the best day of our lives!
We all got ready at the Crowne Plaza in downtown Dayton, then took the party bus to our ceremony site, Memorial Hall. We did not want to have a first look, so the first time we saw each other on our wedding day, was when I was walking down the aisle! It was breathtaking. My brother-in-law and one of his bandmates played the classical guitar and violin for the ceremony music, and it was perfect. We had our mothers stand up with us and perform the “Handfasting” ceremony, which is a Celtic wedding tradition. Our ceremony was about 15-20 minutes, which was the perfect amount of time. After the ceremony, we took photos inside of Memorial Hall. Then we all took the party bus to a photo opp spot for outdoor photos…it was a beautiful spot! After those photos, we took the bus to Troll Pub in Dayton for a couple of drinks, took a few more photos, then made our way to the reception!
For the bridal party introductions, each pair came into a different song, of their choice! It was so fun and original. My husband and I also busted through a large piece of paper with our photos displaying on it. That was such a fun idea to get people in the party spirit! There were a few speeches, then dinner, and then our mother son, father daughter, and first dance…then it was time to really start the party! My husband and I played the newlywed “shoe game”, and that was a hit! We had a soft pretzel and cinnamon roll bar with many different kinds of dips and icings, our guests loved that!
We both felt like King and Queen the entire day, and we couldn’t have asked for anything more.
